All seafood is gluten-free. The easiest way to make gluten-free fried fish is to omit any wheat coating like flour and breading like breadcrumbs. Calories calories come from the fish and oil.

Cooking time is 6 to 7 minutes depending on fillet thickness and the heat of your pan.

You can use any firm fish fillets for this recipe.

Season to taste with salt before frying.

 

Ingredients

  • 2 fish fillets about 3/4 inch (2 cm) thick
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) vegetable oil
  • Salt to taste

Method of Preparation

Step 1

Place oil in a large skillet and heat on medium-high until it reaches 370°F (190°C); about 2 minutes. Place fish fillet on a paper towel and pat dry to reduce splattering. Season to taste with salt.

Step 2

Carefully place fish fillets in the hot oil and cover. Fry 3 to 4 minutes. Uncover, turn, replace cover and fry an additional 3 to 4 minutes.
