Mashed Sweet Potatoes is an alternative to traditional mashed potatoes or candied yams.

Sweet potatoes and yams have more nutrients, and are higher in fiber and calories compared to russet and other white potatoes. A one cup serving has about 100 more calories than a cup of mashed russet potatoes, but significantly less sodium.

Cook’s Tip

  • You can reheat and use left over baked candied yams for this recipe.
  • Adjust the amount of sugar to taste.
