More and more scientific studies are confirming a balanced Mediterranean style diet can reverse or prevent Type-II (non-insulin dependent) diabetes.
The emphasis is on eating an abundance of whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables, and limiting or eliminating highly processed foods high in refined grains (wheat flour) and sugar (white, brown or raw).
If you have a sweet tooth, restrict the amount of sugar laden products (cookies, cakes, pies, and candy) and replace them with natural sweetened fruits (grapes, apples, pears, bananas, etc.)
If you current take mediation to reduce your blood sugar try reducing the amount of processed foods containing refined flour and sugar, eat more fruits and vegetables and increase your physical activity.
